Have you wondered if a spiritual awakening is just around the corner?
We are experiencing a time of great change. The world seems to be spinning faster on its axis and we might feel as if we are living in a vortex where the world has become a blur of change and demand that seems to be moving at a dizzying speed.

Human rights and civil rights are at the fore no matter where you live in the world. In the U.S., we are experiencing the worst and best of times simultaneously. The long standing and damaging effects of racial divide has given birth to “Black Lives Matter” and “Show up for Racial Justice” movements that are dedicated to mending race relations and changing (at the institutional and systemic level) the racial disparity that has resulted in injustice and even violence. At the very same time, the LGBTQI community is under attack through legislated ‘bathroom bills’ while the Federal Government is stepping OUT and up with equal protections for those who are transgender; as students, medical patients, and to ensure access to public accommodations. As civil rights activist and preacher Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said “The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends towards justice.” This is certainly proving true today.

Whatever your religious experience, wherever you are on your spiritual journey, have faith in the One who is creating this arc that bends toward a world where creation is ongoing. Minds opening and hearts softening prove the world (and we) are being transformed and renewed in the process. I believe we are indeed poised for a spiritual awakening. My prayer is that it start individually and then (together) we are swept into a time when we awaken to a greater consciousness…we are ALL God’s beloved. As this mindfulness grows, may we strive to treat ourselves and each other as beloved as well. Rather than ‘around the corner’ – might this spiritual awakening begin now? With us?? Ultimately love is the answer, no question about it.
